Pre-Required Features:

Client Side Feature: Custom Mob Textures and Item Textures shall be properly visible.
Use any one of the following:

- Entity Texture Features [by Traben] and CIT Resewn [by SHsuperCM]: 2 client side mods which works properly with Forge and Fabric client. Avoid beta/preview versions.
- OptiFabric Modpack (Modrinth) [by Creanter]: An all-in-one client side modpack which works on Fabric client. Modrinth Launcher is required. Avoid beta/preview versions.
- OptiFabric Modpack (CurseForge) [by Creanter]: An all-in-one client side modpack which works on Fabric client. CurseForge Launcher is required. Avoid beta/preview versions.

Introduction:

This datapack aims to recreate Skeleton Horse Trap and add a brand new Horse Trap called "Zombie Horse Trap" in vanilla minecraft. It supports minecraft versions 1.16.2 to 1.21.8.

Working:

This datapack modifies 2 things in the game.

Thunderstorm Weather : It creates a new algorithm for thunderstorm weather. The algorithm is, every 10 minutes, there is a 10% chance of weather being changed to thunderstorm. This makes thunder weather occur more often than before, but still pretty rare. This algorithm can be disabled. See admin commands.
Spawning mechanism : There is a very rare chance of a mysterious horse to spawn during thunderstorm. The horse can spawn anywhere from 24 blocks away to player's render distance. The horse will look like a normal horse, but it is a hidden trap from the undead. Any player nearby can trigger the horse trap. Once the horse trap is triggered, horsemen will spawn and attack the player. If the horse trap is not triggered by any player until it stops raining, then the mysterious horse will despawn. Horsemen can also despawn with their horse if it stops raining. By default, zombie horsemen are disabled since they are very difficult to defeat, but you can enable it. See admin commands.

Skeleton Horseman:
- Mob: Skeleton [24 HP (12 Hearts)]
- Mount: Skeleton Horse [Random HP]
- Weapon: Enchanted Bow
- Armor: Enchanted Iron Helmet
- Death Loot Table: Regular Loot + Saddle + Lead
Zombie Horseman:
- Mob: Drowned [24 HP (12 Hearts)]
- Mount: Zombie Horse [Random HP]
- Weapon: Channeling Trident
- Armor: Turtle Shell
- Death Loot Table: Regular Loot + Saddle + Lead

Taming Horses:

Make sure "Poison Undead Horses upon leader's death" is disabled. See admin commands to understand how to disable it. Once you disable it, undead horses will no longer be poisoned upon their leader's death and you are free to tame them. To tame an undead horse, player has to feed it with a Golden Apple. Enchanted Golden Apple also works in this case. Once you feed the horse enough, it will be tamed. If you currently do not have any Golden Apple, you can use the lead from Horseman's death loot, to take the horse to your home.

Another context about this, if the player loses the fight and dies to the horsemen, then the horsemen will despawn and player will lose their chance to have an Undead Horse as their pet, unless, there are more players nearby.

Advancements:

Horse Trap: Trigger a horse trap from a horse spawned from lightning bolt.
Skeleton Horseman Hunter: Kill a Skeleton Horseman.
Zombie Horseman Hunter: Kill a Zombie Horseman.

Using this you can toggle some features. They are:
- Skeleton Horse Traps : When Enabled, horses spawned from lightning bolt can trigger Skeleton Horse Trap.
- Zombie Horse Traps : When Enabled, horses spawned from lightning bolt can trigger Zombie Horse Trap.
- Modify Thunder Weather Algorithm : When Enabled, a new algorithm will be created which will make thunder weather more common than minecraft's default, but not too much.
- Poison Undead Horses upon leader's death : When Enabled, undead horses will be poisoned upon their leader's death.

Uninstall the datapack removing all datapack related features.
